Armory Art Salon Features Nadine Saitlin Discussing “Surface, Color And Form” On Tuesday, March 6

The Armory Art Center brings so many opportunities not only to artists, but to art lovers. The monthly Art Salons led by Elle Schorr allow all of us to meet and better understand the creative process with internationally, nationally and locally based artists.  Meet Nadine Saitlin on Tuesday, March 6th, as she discusses  “Surface, Color and Form” The public is invited.  The Rickie Report shares the details and a few sneak peeks.  Stop and look at the art…hear the creators…share the wonder!

Armory Art Center Gallery Hours:
Monday-Friday, 10:00 am – 5:00 pm, Saturday 10:00 am – 3:30 pm

* Exhibitions are open to the public

Art Salons continue to meet in the Armory Art Center Library on Tuesday nights, usually the first Tuesday of each month, 6:30 – 8:30 pm, from October through May. Salons are open to anyone who would like to participate in these lively discussions. There is a $10 donation for each salon.



Nadine Saitlin’s “Idlewild Drawing Sculpture”


Nadine shares, “As a practicing artist my goal is to create interesting surfaces, emotional color combinations and provocative forms that involve the audience in a visual adventure. My goal is to involve the audience in making personal connections and discovering new meanings”.


Nadine received her undergraduate degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and post graduate degrees from the University of Illinois, Champaign, and Michigan State University, East Lansing.  As an Arts Educator, she “created educational materials at CEMREL, Inc. a national research and development laboratory, directed a NEA Artist-In-Residence program, taught visual art at Chicago State University and was the Executive Director of the Illinois Alliance of Arts Education”.  As a Designer, she recently joined an e-commerce site where she adapts her artwork to clothing, handbags and home accessories. Nadine has received many awards including the Dick Blick purchase prize, Best of Show All Florida Exhibition Boca Raton Museum of Art and Best of Show Kathryn Butler Gallery, and her work is represented in many private collections. Nadine’s artwork was on the cover of Kravis Center for the Arts’ Playbill Cover, at the Palm Beach International Airport, and her paintings were featured in A Walk Into Abstraction, ebook, Vol. #6 by Sue St. John. She has been in numerous Solo, Two Person and Special Exhibitions nationally.

The Armory Art Center’s art school and galleries provide creative opportunities to enhance your life. The Armory has served the community for over 30 years. The mission of the Armory Art Center is to inspire the creation and experience of art and the Armory’s vision is to be the leading community resource for arts education. Serving over 3,000 students annually, the Armory Art Center offers 160 courses per term in six terms throughout the year to students ranging in age from pre-school to retiree. Classes in drawing, painting, photography, jewelry, fiber, ceramics, and sculpture are held in 12 state-of–the-art studios. Twelve exhibitions are hosted annually in three galleries.
