The Wellington Art Society will host two Gallery Receptions:  Wellington City Hall Gallery on Tuesday, February 27th and the Equine Exhibit at the Wellington Community Center Gallery on Saturday, March 10th. In addition, the public is also invited to their Monthly Meeting on Wednesday, February 14th, featuring a demo with Ralph Papa.  There is a lot of artwork to see and WAS offers so many opportunities for artists to show their work and network as well.  The Rickie Report shares the details and some sneak peeks.

Beginning in the 1980’s Ralph began painting on location in the Hudson Valley and the Hamptons on Long Island and since 2002 in Palm Beach County. His subjects are from nature, life experiences and personal reflections of family and friends. In addition to plein air painting, Ralph does studio paintings, many of them larger than life faces creating pensive moods with feelings of isolation and loneliness. His most recent studio works are real and imaginative compositions that link him visually with artists he admires.

Ralph Papa is a passionate art activist, teaching drawing, painting and plein air workshops throughout Palm Beach County. As an art instructor he believes that a fine visual artist must be able to accurately reproduce images with minimum effort which will give them a better chance of success if they are true to who they are in creating something unique.

Ralph is a Signature Member and Past President of the Artists Guild of the Boca Raton Museum of Art and co-founder of Plein Air Palm Beach. His work is in many private and public collections in the United States, Canada and Europe. His art is on display locally at The Neighborhood Gallery in Boynton Beach.  Ralph tells us,“As an artist, I find the process of creating a fine artwork highly energizing and even more fulfilling then the end product”.

The Wellington Art Society will host a reception on Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 10-12 n for their outstanding Equine Exhibit now showing at the Wellington Community Center on Forest Hill Boulevard just south of Wellington City Hall. This first Equine Exhibit features fifteen artists including a premier showing of Laurie Snow Hein’s painting “North Dakota Mustangs at Teddy Roosevelt Park”.
