Request for Proposal

Queen of PAWNS has been offering Floridians the best pawn loan rates in the industry since 1995. We have prided ourselves on developing relationships based on outmost respect, dignity, and a royal sense of customer service. In 2018, QoP will celebrate its 23rd anniversary by inviting a contemporary local artist to cover the facade (outside wall) with art in the form of a large mural.

This mural will be celebrated on Sunday, March 25th

With a Public Event hosted by Queen of Pawns.

Local artists will be invited to propose an original artwork finding inspiration in one of the oldest professions, Pawnbroking.  It is believed that the earliest pawnbrokers were established and operated by Buddhist monasteries in the 5th century. Artists will have creative freedom to give pawnbroking a contemporary Floridian twist while emphasizing aspects of our local community; it is our goal for the community to be proud of this mural.

Task

The artist will first create a rendering of the proposed mural respecting the dimensions of the walls used for the project (required for the permitting process); a template will be provided for the artist to create the rendering on. Next the artist will have from March 12th-23rd to create the purposed mural. The artist will also create an interior art piece, which interprets QoP’s Logo using the artist’s own artistic style.

Deliverables

1. A proposal including AT LEAST the following:

1. Introduction of yourself and your art
2. Letter of intent expressing your interest in the mural project
3. Resume and samples of past public artwork and/or projects
4. A digital rendering of what the proposed mural design will look like on the façade

             Vectorized template will be provided for rendering

5. Estimated time of mural completion (must be completed NO LATER THAN March 23rd)
6. List of equipment and supplies needs, including cost of each item
7. A piece of artwork with the Queen of PAWNS logo embedded inside (artist will have creative freedom) (Rendering not required for proposal)

Notes

• Vectorized renderings of the mural facade (with measurements)
• Bike rack will be removed
• Pictures of the building, façade, and surroundings   

Compensation

• Compensation $1500-$2000
