Wellington Art Society City Hall/ Community Center Art Show Open For Applications. Not A Member Yet? Join Now!

The Wellington Art Society has opened applications for the upcoming Wellington Art Society City Hall/Community Center Art Show.  If you are not a member of this extraordinary artist networking organization, this is the perfect time to gift yourself or someone else!  Raising monies for student art scholarships, sharing their artistry with the general community, volunteering at local hospitals, and providing art services is their mission.   The Rickie Report shares the details and urges you to take this opportunity to show and see your work! Agreement and Release Form Exhibit will be from: 1/16/18 to approx.: 4/10/2018 Drop off date & time 1/16/2018 3:00 PM to 4 PM

This exhibition agreement is made by and between the City of Wellington, The Wellington Art Society, and the undersigned artist for the following artwork and conditions:

  1. Application to this program is limited to current, active Wellington Art Society members only.
  2. Artists’ work will be on display at the designated Wellington facility for a period of approximately three months.
  3. The WAS Selection Committee and the City of Wellington will approve all art that will be displayed.Nudes, political, or religious themed art will not be accepted.
  4. Artwork must have a minimum size of 9×12 overall, smaller work, especially series work, is now being considered. Large artwork is encouraged, due to generous wall space. Walls range from 3’ wide to 12’ wide. Two similar paintings could be considered for one space.
  5. 2D artwork must be ready for hanging with the correct hardware and coated wiring. Please no glass in the framing. All artwork must be clearly labeled on the back with the artist’s name, title of the art, medium, dimensions, and price.
  6. 3D artwork submitted will be displayed on the City of Wellington’s pedestals, which have a 16” square surface area, and are 48″ high. 3D artwork submitted for consideration must have the dimensions clearly stated.
  7. The Wellington Art Society, the City of Wellington, and/or its employees and/or its volunteers are not liable for any damaged or stolen property. The artist must provide his/her own liability insurance for artwork delivered for this project
  8. Artwork is left on a voluntary basis, with no promise of compensation.
  9. WAS will provide a title card for each piece of art, which will state: the title of the art, size, medium, artist name, price and WAS contact phone number. Artwork may be available for sale. Inquiries about purchases will go to the Wellington Art Society and the artist will negotiate the final sale. The artist agrees that 20% commission on any sale will be paid to the WAS by the artist. If a piece of art is sold before the show rotation period ends, the Artist will coordinate with Wellington and WAS’s Committee Chair to replace it with an approved comparable piece before removing it and delivering to the buyer, or leave it until after the show.

Up to 4 pieces of art may be submitted for consideration. Please fill out an Agreement Form for each piece, and attach a photo of your work to the completed form. If art is framed, submit a photo of framed work as well. On the back of each photo list: Artist’s name, title of work, medium, dimensions including frame, and price.

Please make a copy of your completed agreement and retain for your records.

The Wellington Art Society is a non-profit charitable organization in its 37th year. It is open to artists of all mediums and patrons of the arts, allowing both local and regional artists to display their art work in local galleries, interact with other artists and serve the community through their art.
