America’s most celebrated philanthropic families with such recognized lineages as Guggenheim, Johnson, Bush and Field are all represented in this spectacularly unique exhibition at the Lighthouse ArtCenter Gallery and School of Art. It’s an assembly to dazzle the most fervent art aficionado.  Viewers will see the artwork created by and collected in the residences of Jupiter Island. This colorful, evocative, multi-media exhibition celebrates the quiet enclave of culture on Florida’s Treasure Coast. It provides an extraordinary opportunity for area residents and visitors to get a peek at the talents and the collections in this once in a lifetime show. Exhibit runs December 14, 2017 – January 18, 2018

Lose yourself in the darkly romantic large-scale oils of Clay Kanzler (collected by the Guggenheim), celebrate the original paintings created by the talented James Johnson, . Visitors will engage with the irresistible Alice in Wonderland-inspired large scale chess set created by the nationally recognized clay sculptor, Joan Wobst, and enjoy the graphic genius of the 2016 Florida Artist Hall of Fame Award Inductee, Jane Davis Doggett.

Another feature in the exhibit is on loan from the grandson of Solomon R. Guggenheim, a commissioned art that has unlimited sentimental value, a gift from the Guggenheim children. It is a tile-topped coffee table painted with an image of the family’s famous museum in New York City. Further, as a tribute to the work in the collection of the Jupiter Island Arts Council, the Lighthouse ArtCenter will exhibit original Highwaymen pieces as well as the celebrated Florida scenic oils from A. E. “Beanie” Backus and his great nephew, Kevin Hutchinson Hutchison. Selected pieces of the exhibited art will be available for purchase.
