“Floral Fusion 2018” Offers Flower Show And Art Exhibit At Jonathan Dickinson State Park. Call For Artists And Attendees
Friends of Jonathan Dickinson State Park announce “Floral Fusion 2018”, with an Opening Public Reception on Friday, January 12, 2018. This is a TWO-PART EVENT: The Flower Show includes live orchids and floral exhibits. The Art Exhibit includes 2D (painting, photography, mixed media) and 3D (sculpture, glass) art work, on display in the gallery of the Elsa Kimbell Environmental Education and Research Center in the park from January 12 – February 25, 2018. THE EVENT WILL CONSIST OF TWO PARTS:
A flower show and sale January 12–14, 2018, consisting of live orchids and floral exhibits
A show of 2D (painting, photography, mixed media) and 3D (sculpture, glass) dimensional art work, on display in the gallery of the Elsa Kimbell Environmental Education and Research Center in the park from January 12 – February 25, 2018.

December 27, 2017 – Artists will be notified if their work is selected
Saturday, January 6 – Monday, January 8 – Drop off dates, 11:00 am – 4:00 pm
Accepted work to be delivered to the Kimbell Center in the park at above times. Artwork will not be accepted if delivered outside of these times.

Wednesday, February 28 Show ends at 5:00 pm

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION – PLEASE REVIEW
All work (2D and 3D) submitted must have a floral theme depicting flowers or floral arrangements. Work may be impressionistic if a floral theme is clearly discernible.
Electronic submissions will be juried to ensure consistency with quality, theme, fit with available showing space, and acceptability within the park’s family-friendly and natural environment
Registration fee is $25 per artist for up to three pieces and $5 for each additional work. Friends of JDSP Member Discount – registration only $20 for up to three pieces! $5 each additional applies.

After registration you will receive an email with instructions on submitting your images. Any electronic images not submitted in this format may not be accepted.
Electronic images should be in jpg format of sufficient quality and resolution to allow for proper review (recommended 72ppi and between 1000ppi and 2000ppi on the longest side)
Electronic images should be titled as follows: artistfullname_entry number_artwork title Example: johndoe_1_bird of paradise.jpg
Electronic images must be received by the submission deadline • Accepted work – preparation and delivery requirements
Artwork that portrays recognizable people must be accompanied by a photo model release form (below)
All artwork must be labeled clearly on the back with the artwork title, artist’s name, sales price if for sale, and media type. Price listed on the artwork must match the price listed in registration; otherwise it will be listed as not for sale
3D art must be accompanied by the proper display.
Accepted 2D work must be mounted properly wired on the back for hanging. Work not properly prepared will not be accepted
Deliver artwork to the Kimbell Center between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm, Saturday, January 6 – Monday, January 8. Artwork will not be accepted if delivered outside of these times.
20% of sales goes to the Friends of JDSP; the Friends will handle sales transactions and pay the artists at the end of the show. Tax will be added onto the sales price
Artists are responsible for packaging and delivery of artwork to buyers if not local, including all financial arrangements for shipping

All artwork must be picked up between 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Thursday, March 1 – Sunday, March 4
Artwork that remains in the center after that date will be donated to the Friends of Jonathan Dickinson State Park
If the artist cannot pick up the artwork, please contact the Kimbell Center and provide the name of who will – they will sign off on your work

I certify that I (“Artist”) am the owner author of the artwork, and I have not assigned any of my rights associated with the artwork to any third party and have sole, complete and unrestricted authority to enter into this release and to grant the rights described in this release.
I release Jonathan Dickinson State Park and the Friends of Jonathan Dickinson State Park, Inc. from any liability whatsoever that arises from their use of the artwork except for uses that violate the terms and conditions of this release.
I hereby grant Jonathan Dickinson State Park and the Friends of Jonathan Dickinson State Park, Inc. the royalty-free and nonexclusive right to use and publish images of the artwork on their website or in publications in conjunction with this event. Jonathan Dickinson State Park and the Friends of Jonathan Dickinson State Park, Inc. also may use the artwork images in other publications such as their website, in park brochures, in magazines, or for other marketing, promotional, and educational uses with a credit including the © symbol and naming the artist (example – © John Doe). Jonathan Dickinson State Park and the Friends of Jonathan Dickinson State Park, Inc. recognize that the artist owns the image and copyright to the image and shall neither claim, nor exercise any ownership rights thereto. Photographs of the artwork may be shared with the media in conjunction with this event only while making the media aware of the copyright ownership and requesting that such media use the images in conjunction with the © symbol and photo credit as in the above example.
In the occasion that the artist’s work is chosen to be displayed in the Kimbell Center:
Artwork that is not picked up by the specified date in the Call to Artists will be donated to the Friends of Jonathan Dickinson State Park, unless otherwise arranged in writing by the Artist and the Friends of JDSP.
It is understood that artwork insurance shall not be provided by Jonathan Dickinson State Park or the Friends of Jonathan Dickinson State Park, Inc. and artwork insurance, if any, shall be obtained by the artist.
It is also understood that Jonathan Dickinson State Park and the Friends of Jonathan Dickinson State Park, Inc. shall at all times exercise ordinary care in providing protection to the artwork, but shall assume no responsibility whatsoever for loss, damage, or destruction to the artwork.
In consideration of the benefit accruing to the artist and to members of the public, the artist releases Jonathan Dickinson State Park and the Friends of Jonathan Dickinson State Park, Inc. from liability for such loss, damage, or destruction of the artwork.
