Wellington Art Society Invites Public To Reception And Exhibit Featuring Joanne Baker MacLeod At Wellington Whole Foods Market

The Wellington Art Society in conjunction with Whole Foods Market Wellington features Artist, Joanne Baker MacLeod. The public is invited to attend a Meet The Artist Reception on Friday, May 26. Whole Foods Market Wellington will provide delicious appetizers, wine and live music. In addition, there will be special door prizes. The Wellington Art Society requests a $5 per person donation to go toward their Scholarship Fund. Her paintings are on exhibition now through June. “Mounts Botanical Gardens” by Joanne Baker MacLeod

 

 

The current Wellington Art Society Whole Foods exhibitor is well known and highly accomplished local artist Joanne Baker MacLeod. She will be showing many of her beautiful nature paintings at the Wellington Whole Foods Market Gallery through June.

Joanne graduated from Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh PA with a Fine Art Degree in Commercial Art. Following graduation she worked for American Greetings Card Company until she married. She continued painting while raising three children, moving around the country finally to Wellington in 1997.

Joanne continues to be a working artist and is well known for her beautiful oil paintings of animals, landscapes, flowers and people. Her paintings have a softness to them and lovely muted colors of nature. She has won many awards wherever she has lived including several Best in Show and First Place. Locally she shows her paintings at the Wellington City Hall Gallery, Community Center Gallery, the Lake Worth Art League and Art in Public Places. She is a long time member of the Wellington Art Society and Lake Worth Art League. Her paintings are found in private collections throughout the United States.

A reception for Joanne will be held at and hosted by Wellington Whole Foods Market on Friday, May 26, 2017 from 6:30-8 PM. Delicious appetizers and wine will be served and there will be live music and door prizes. The Art Society asks a $5 donation which will go to their Scholarship Fund. This year the Art Society awarded seven $1,500 scholarships to graduating local seniors who will be majoring in art in college. This will be a lovely reception for the artist and is open to the public. It is a great way to start the weekend!
