Boca Raton Museum of Art School Offers New Classes, Faculty Exhibit And Workshops
New Art classes start on February 27 at the Boca Raton Museum Art School! The School continues to evolve to meet the interests of adults, teenagers, and children. With over 100 classes offered daytime, evening and Saturdays, there is something for everyone. Familiar and new classes include: Essential Skills for Painters, Fundamentals of Photoshop, Leather Jewelry, Chiaroscuro Drawing, a new evening jewelry making class, Saturday morning pottery class, and lots more! Popular workshops in February:
Fun Jewelry Casting Explore ways to cast metal in order to make unusual one-of-a-kind jewelry. Traditional casting can be very costly. However, Fun Casting uses basic tools and the results can be stunning. Each student casts in the medium of cuttlefish bone, straw, or beans. Other possibilities include rice, rock salt, or ice. 8.17 Saturday, February 18, 1 – 5 PM Instructor: Don Dietz Tuition: $110
Mandala in Colored Pencils. Awaken the creative spirit within. Through guided mediation, storytelling, and specific colored pencil drawing exercises, students create their own Mandala. Explore the joy and meditative process of color and creating. Learn to express the essential beauty and wholeness of your true nature and to tap into the creativity of your spirit. Broke Plate Mosaics: Recycle your broken dishware to decorate a vase in the style of Antonio Gaudi (morning workshop).
Mobius Sculpture: Create a Mobius strip in plaster with Willie Reed (afternoon workshop).
