Armory Art Center Features “Champions: Caribbean Artists Breaking Boundaries In South Florida”
The Armory Art Center invites you to “Champions: Caribbean Artists Breaking Boundaries in South Florida”. The exhibition, celebrating the work of contemporary Caribbean artists living in South Florida, invites everyone to the opening Reception on January 13th. Artists will present complex narratives central to the ideas of identity through their use of space, location, and observation. The exhibition will host a range of work experience in painting, photography, sculpture, video, and installation art. A series of educational programs will complement the exhibition and artists. Jane Hart has over 30 years of professional experience and expertise and is active in the contemporary art field in New York City, Los Angeles, London, and South Florida. For nearly a decade she served as the Curator of Exhibitions at the Art and Culture Center of Hollywood, Florida. During her tenure at the Center, Hart curated over 100 exhibitions. Most recently Ms. Hart was named Curator of the Year by the New York Times. Her experience around the world with its core in her decade of service to the Cultural Center of Hollywood make her uniquely qualified to direct this exhibition.

The mission of the Armory Art Center is to inspire the creation and experience of art. The Armory’s vision is to be the leading visual arts education and exhibition center of the Palm Beaches. Housed in an historic Art Deco building, the Armory provides art classes for students of all ages, exhibitions, art salons, lectures, and special events. Held in twelve state-of-the-art studios, nearly 100 courses are offered including ceramics, digital arts, drawing, glass fusing, jewelry, painting, printmaking, fibers, sculpture, and 20 exhibitions are hosted annually in four galleries.
