Focus On Photography At Boca Raton Museum Of Art School And New Spring Classes

The Photography Department at the Boca Raton Museum’s Art School has grown in the past two years. With addition of two new instructors, there are more daytime, evening and Saturday classes for beginners, intermediate, and advanced students and a special class “Learning from the Masters” that gets access to the Boca Raton Museum’s collection of over 2,000 photographs. Get inspired by up-close examination of works by Arnold Newman, Diane Arbus, Alfred Stieglitz and other photography masters.  William Ewing, guest curator of the exhibit “Arnold Newman: Master Class” at the Boca Raton Museum of Art will present a talk at the Art School on Tuesday, April 19th. Art and Photography

CLASSES  AND  LECTURES:

 

SPRING ART CLASSES START APRIL 18! Re-awaken your creativity at the Art School, new daytime, evening and Saturday art classes.

6-week term runs from 4/18 to 5/28.

New classes include Pastels with Roxene Sloate, and Portrait Painting from Photographs.

After school classes for teens and kids include Post-processing Photography and (clothed) Figure drawing.

Allan Pierce leads the department with adult classes for beginners, intermediate, and advanced students and a special class “Learning from the Masters” that gets access to the Boca Raton Museum’s collection of over 2,000 photographs. Students get inspired by up-close examination of works by Arnold Newman, Diane Arbus, Alfred Stieglitz and other masters of photography. Allan also organizes on-site and off-site exhibits of students work.

Lew Lautin, an expert in Photoshop, Lightroom and other post-processing applications teaches teens, kids and adults.  During the summer he teaches video production workshop for teens.

Larry Miller joined the faculty this year to teach Street Photography, Nature Photography and Studio photography.

Arnold Newman created iconic portraits of some the most influential innovators, celebrities and cultural figures of the twentieth century.  His instantly recognizable photographs of famous sitters include Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, Igor Stravinsky, Truman Capote and dozens of other artists.
