APBC Art On Park Gallery Calls For Portraits And Announces Next Exhibit Open To The Public

APBC Art on Park Gallery Presents “Portraits 2016 Exhibit”, celebrating portrait artists in Palm Beach County.  Submissions should be a painting, photograph, sculpture, collage or other artistic representation of a person or animal, in which the face and its expression predominates.  2D and 3D works are included.  Katie Deits will be the judge for prizes, including cash prizes.  Deadline for Entries: February 8, 2016.  Everyone is welcome to the Opening Reception on February 19th, with an Afterparty at the Brewhouse Gallery down the street.  The Rickie Report shares the details here. Our judge is Katie Deits: sculptor, Master Photographer, educator, and writer, who studied art in New York City and Florence, Italy. She has a bachelor of fine arts degree from University of South Florida, holds the Florida Degree of Photographic Excellence and a Master of Photography from Professional Photographers of America. She has been on the art faculties of Barry University and Palm Beach Community College and is a former Director of the Lighthouse ArtCenter.

DETAILS:

 

  • Open to all artists who live in Palm Beach County, Florida

 

  • Submissions should be a painting, photograph, sculpture, collage or other artistic representation of a person or animal, in which the face and its expression predominates.

 

  • Submissions must be by artists who live in Palm Beach County, FL.

 

  • Multimedia , 2D and 3D work welcomed.

 

  • Maximum Size: 36″ wide x 60″ high.

 

  • Submission deadline: Monday, February 8, 2016

 

  • Please do not submit work that is not ready to hang.

 

  • There is no time to have work finished before the drop off date.

 

  • Submissions and payments to be sent in electronically via our website.

 

  • APBC Members non-refundable entry fee: $15 for up to three pieces (.jpg up to 3 MB)

 

  • Non-Members non-refundable entry fee: $25 for up to three pieces (.jpg up to 3 MB)

 

  • IMPORTANT: Members will receive 75% of the gross sale.
  • Non-Members will receive 65% of the gross sale.

 

  • Please price your work accordingly.

 

  • Juried by the Art on Park Gallery Management Committee

 

  • Notification to artists on or before Saturday, February 13, 2016

 

  • Hand delivery of artwork, Monday, February 15 from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm

 

  • Art Pickup: Saturday, April 2, 12:00 noon to 5:00 pm

 

 

 

Please read these entire instructions before you proceed:

 

If you want to join APBC please follow the “Become a Member” link BEFORE you enter the exhibit. After you pay the membership fee ($50 for one year), please make sure you complete the registration process by following the provided links and email instructions to fill in your user name/password and contact details. Or you can renew your membership if it has lapsed.

 

 

Go to the “APBC Exhibitions” tab on the left side column of the Home page. Go to the BEST OF 2016 event and click on the provided link. Please check the appropriate link for member or non-member submission fee.

 

 

After you enter/edit the information fields, go to the bottom of the page to: “Exhibition Name” “Select an Exhibition Name.” Select PORTRAIT 2016, then click the last link: “proceed to Submit . . .”

 

 

You should have your image ready to upload (JPEG format only, no larger than 3 MB). After you have chosen your image click the UPLOAD button. You will then be asked to fill in the name, medium, size and price of the image. When this is complete you have reached the final step. Click the button. You should receive an email telling you of the successful submission.

Terms:

 

 

 

1) No late entries accepted.

2) Original ideas only – no copying of works. Only original works will be accepted. While digital photography and digital painting is allowed, we will not accept giclees of original paintings or other 2D works.

3) Maximum Size: 36″ wide x 60″ high.

4) Entry fees are not refundable.

5) The decision of the jurors is final.

6) Images of works must be submitted to be juried in an electronic JPG format, no larger than 3MB, via the link on the APBC.org website. File names should contain name of the work. Make sure the file names match the names listed on entry form.

7) Unframed oils and acrylics must be finished on all sides – no staples showing.

8) No damaged frames or mats; mats must be clean.

9) All installation methods, such as wire attached to frames, must be secure. All 2D pieces MUST be wired on the back.

10) All entries must be labeled on the back of the work, base of sculpture, or somehow attached to artwork with artist name and title of work.

11) Members will receive 75% of the gross sale. Non-members will receive 65% of the gross sale. Please price your work accordingly.

12) APBC, Inc. carries liability insurance for the Art on Park Gallery which does not extend to your artwork. APBC, Inc. will do its best to safeguard against theft, loss, breakage, or other damage, but will not be financially responsible for reimbursement of lost or damaged work.
