“Invoking The Muse” Features National Association Of Women Artists, FL. Chapter At Coral Springs Museum Of Art

National Association of Women Artists, Inc. Florida Chapter invites everyone to their newest multi-media exhibition, “Invoking The Muse”.  The Exhibit takes place at the Coral Springs Museum of Art from December 1st through December 28th.  The public is invited to the Opening Reception on Tuesday, December 8th. Tobey Archer is the judge and will be presenting awards.  If you are interested in becoming a member of NAWA, your artwork must be juried in. “Marble Canyon” by Lynn Morgan



The NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF WOMEN ARTISTS, INC FLORIDA CHAPTER (N.A.W.A.) is presenting a multi-media exhibition titled Invoking The Muse, which will be hosted by the Coral Springs Museum of Art located at 2855 Coral Springs Drive, Coral Springs, Florida. The public is invited to a reception on Tuesday, December 8th, 6 – 8 PM, at which time First, Second, Third Place, and Judge’s Recognition awards will be announced. The Juried art will be on view in the Lower Lobby Gallery from Tuesday, December 1 through Monday, December 28, 2015. The chapter is pleased that an online exhibit will be available to the public on December 9, 2015, the day after the Opening Reception.

Renowned Florida artists, fiber artist Andrea Huffman and portrait painter Genie Cohen are the Exhibit co-chairs. Ms. Cohen, who has won awards for her corporate and personal portraits, is a faculty member of the Coral Springs Museum of Art. Ms. Huffman who creates works of art on fabric also teaches classes and workshops at the Boca Museum Art School.

Huffman and Cohen have put together an amazing exhibit of the works of N.A.W.A. Florida Chapter artists, and they are proud to announce that Tobey Archer is the judge. Ms. Archer received her Master of Arts Degree in Studio Art from Vermont College of Norwich University. Her artwork is in the collection of the Fort Lauderdale Museum of Art, the Broward County Public Art and Design collection, and the State of Florida collection as well as many private collections.

N.A.W.A. is the oldest professional women’s fine arts group in the United States, and the Florida Chapter of N.A.W.A. was the first regional chapter in the country. It was founded in 1995 by Liana Moonie, of Palm Beach, a past president of the national organization and Madeline Weiss, who was the first president of the Florida Chapter. All artists wishing to join the prestigious Florida Chapter must first be juried into the Association Headquarters in New York City.
