Laz tells The Rickie Report, “Raised in south Florida, I have been near the ocean my entire life. My unwarranted fears of the ocean’s mysteries evolved into an endless fascination during my childhood summers in Key West. Floating below me was an alien world waiting to be discovered”.

Laz continues, “Over thirty years later, this love affair for the ocean has developed into an obsession. Whether I am on an ocean adventure or reading books on its natural history, few things capture my attention with such an invigorating passion. Every immersion elicits the fascination I felt as a small boy dipping my head underwater for the very first time”.

“It is through this web site that I hope to share with you the wonder of this incredible world as I see it. My hope is that my images and stories will help you understand our amazing ocean planet a little better and my passion and admiration for the natural world becomes your own”, Laz shares.

Everet and Laura Cooper tell us, “We are a small home based business with big dreams and goals (Our first storefront coming Summer 2016). We are incredibly passionate and dedicated to making the highest quality Bath and Body products, and not just any product, but products that work the way you would expect and like them to; our soaps lather like crazy and leave your skin feeling clean and moisturized, not sticky, not dry, but just right. Some say we are revolutionizing handmade skincare with this idea, you use a product because it actually works and feels great, not suffer through a mediocre, overpriced, thrown together item just because it is “good for you”.

We thank you for supporting our small business, our growing family, and our dreams. We hope that you will follow our business and family as it continues to grow and expand. Karen Massengill – painting

Karen knew at a very early age that she wanted to be an artist. Pencils and crayons were constant companions as her family moved literally around the world; she grew up and drew creative inspiration from all over the US, as well as France, Germany, Turkey and Thailand. After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from Florida State University, Karen was sidetracked from painting by marriage and raising three sons. She earned a nursing degree to assure a steady income, working in hospitals until her husband’s sudden death in 1995. At first a helpful distraction from the loss, painting became her primary interest and the childhood dream of a career in art persistently reasserted itself. To revitalize her skills she attended workshops taught by world class artists including Carl Dalio, Janet Rodgers, Jim Kosvanec and a host of others.
Painting by Karen Leffel-Massengill
Leffel-Massengill has enjoyed immense success on the art show circuit: she has shown at Coconut Grove, Ann Arbor State Street Art Fair, Ann Arbor South University Art Fair, Winter Park Sidewalk Festival and Artigras, has won numerous show awards and been selected as show poster artist five times. Her painting Summer Light appeared on the cover of the Summer 1998 Watercolor Magic national publication. Prestigious honors she has received include: Birds in Art four times, in both watercolor and oil mediums; Arts for the Parks with watercolor entries in both the top 100 and top 200, signature status with both the Florida Watercolor Society and the Society of Animal Artists. Teaching others to paint has become an important part of her art career via workshops held all over the country and private lessons in her Palm City studio.
Painting by Karen Leffel-Massengill
Karen earned her BA degree from Florida State University with an art major and art history minor. Her art career really began with the unexpected death of her husband, Lester Massengill in August 1995. Turning to painting as a means to survive the grieving process, Leffel-Massengill quickly became proficient first in watercolor as a medium, soon followed by oil. She has garnered many awards in both mediums and has been accepted in international competitions in both as well. Her work has been purchased by the Leigh Yawkee Woodson Art Museum as well as numerous corporations.
