Carol Prusa tells The Rickie Report, “Contemplating what it means to make something from nothing, I will discuss the creation of context, content and meaning through the installation of my work and the evolution of my visual language from inner space to expression in outer space.”

Galileo’s quote from Il Saggiatore that says: “[The Universe] is written in the language of mathematics and its characters are triangles, circles, and other geometric figures.” Carol says, “It resonates with how I know things. I explore symmetry, infinity, the void, complexity and emergent forms as a gateway to creating my worlds.”

"Paradise" by Carol Prusa

“My work references the organic nature of life and connection to geometry. Paul Valery wrote, ‘The Universe is built on a plan the profound symmetry of which is somehow present in the inner structure of our intellect.’ I plumb that intellect for its vital beauty, attempting to visually deliver a ‘theory of everything’ as comprehensively as a physicist”, she explains.

ART SALONS offer stimulating conversations with other artists, in a relaxed setting. As a springboard to each of our explorations, professional artists from South Florida are invited to present their work, talk about what influenced them, and examine the work of influential artists showing in museums and galleries. Our discussions cover the gamut of contemporary art themes, including conceptual, cultural, socio/political, environmental, race and gender focused and aesthetic practices, the materials and techniques used to convey these ideas, and where we fit into the world of contemporary conceptual art. They’re also an opportunity to explore the practical side of being an artist, of professional development and the sharing of useful resources.

Salons are facilitated by Elle Schorr. Schedule of upcoming Art Salons and Videos of past Art Salon Presentations are now available at  http://www.elleschorrphotography.com. Upcoming Art Salons are also listed at http://www.armoryart.org/ArtSalons.
