Rolando Chang Barrero, was born in Coconut Grove, FL and currently resides in West Palm Beach, FL. After receiving a BFA School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Rolando became an artist and art activist. Pulling together artists from various media and spectrums of life, his own artwork often took a back seat. His famous Art Walks established the Boynton Beach Arts District as the place to be seen. He assures The Rickie Report that those will continue on a monthly basis, even as he puts his energies into this new gallery in Lake Worth. His studio remains at 410 West Industrial Ave., Boynton Beach, FL. In addition, he and Craig McInnis are organizing Art Synergy/Art Palm Beach ART WEEK for January, 2015.
A Partial List of Artists at press time includes:
Aidana Baldassarre, Carlos Alves, Sheree Reynolds, Diane Arrieta, Durga Garcia, Juan Erman Gonzales, Monique Lassooij, Karen McGovern, Debbie Lee-Mostel, Eleazar Delgado, Frances Lynn, Ilene Adams, Jim Rabidoux, Joann Urban, Nazare Feliciano, Russell Levine, Ray Gross, Robert Catapano, Serafima Sokolov, Renda Writer and more to follow.
Rolando has over 30 years of gallery experience, including Gallery 99 in Bal Harbour, Florida; Latino Fine Art in Chicago, Illinois; Randolph Street Gallery, Chicago, Illinios; Ground Level Gallery, Miami Beach, Florida (partnership with South Florida Art Center and Jennie Person); ActivistArtistA Gallery, Phoenix, Arizona (sole pro.); ActivistArtistA Gallery, Boynton Beach, Florida (sole pro.) and now Rolando Chang Barrero Fine Art, Lake Worth, Florida (sole pro).
Rolando’s exhibitions and CV read like a very busy calendar – with something happening daily, weekly, monthly and often simultaneously. He was most recently a Featured Artist at the John D. MacArthur Library of Florida Atlantic University, Jupiter, FL ( October 2014).
Soon after his Gallery Opening, Rolando will participate in “Endagered Exhibition” as an Invited Artist, Miami, FL (December,2014), Armory Art Center’s Art Salon as an Invited Artist (November 2014), and Art In Public Places, Paint by Numbers Mural, West Palm Beach, November 2014.
