Meeting Patricia Maguire

Patricia was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She tells The Rickie Report, ” I consider myself fortunate to have learned about art from some very good teachers, beginning with the classical masters at museums and galleries in Buenos Aires as a child. Later, while living in Rio de Janeiro and Caracas, I was exposed to modern and vibrant art everywhere I turned”.
We can see that Patricia has the ability to capture not only the natural beauty of a scene, but also its emotion. Her formal art education began at Skidmore College (Saratoga Springs, NY) where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Studio Art and continued with some Master level classes at Syracuse University. She also holds an MBA from FAU.
“South Florida has been my home now for over 30 years. I am the recipient of numerous awards for my oil, acrylic and enamel paintings and my work has been exhibited at the Boca Raton Museum of Art, the Coral Springs Museum of Art, The Cornell Museum in Delray Beach and other art venues throughout South Florida. My paintings hang in galleries in Delray Beach, Fort Lauderdale , New York, Cleveland, as well as in private and corporate collections in Brazil, Venezuela, Canada and throughout the USA”, she tells us.
Patricia’s paintings reflect her passion to capture light and shadows. She teaches at the Delray Beach Center For The Arts and is a Signature Member of the Artists Guild of the Boca Raton Museum of Art, the Delray Art League, the Women In The Visual Arts (WITVA), The American Society of Impressionist Painters. Patricia is also the founder of the Florida ‘Scape Artists. Beyond the beauty of South Florida, she sketches and takes photographs for later reference wherever she travels.
Patricia’s recent exhibition highlights include: Art Expo New York 2013, Red Dot Miami 2012 and The Boca Raton Museum of Art Artists’ Guild Biennial Show 2011. When not on location, she paints out of her studio in Delray Beach.
