Paula currently works as an Insurance Placement Specialist.  Photography has been her avocation for years.  “It became the way that I healed after a painful period in my life.  Going out into gardens and seeing how nature consistently reminds us of the full circle of life (life, death, rebirth) was helpful,” she says.

Paula generally plans a trip go to a garden because of an exhibit.  “I really enjoy gardens when there is a specific exhibit such as the Chihuly exhibit at Fairchild and the Zimbabwe Sculpture at Naples Botanical garden.  This Spring I went to the Cherry Blossom Festival in DC.  The tulip was part of the Tulip Library Exhibit in front of the Tidal Basin”.

Paula tells The Rickie Report, “I shot digital with a point and shoot camera (a Sony DSCHX10).  I get so excited when I see a shot that appeals because of the way the light hits it or the shadows that I want to shoot it right then!”

Paula shares, “Hopefully my pictures bring some of that to life.  My inspirations for my work are Georgia O’Keefe and Ansel Adams.”  She is grateful for the support of her Lake Worth Art League colleagues, who encouraged her to participate in this exhibit.
