Lori Hlavsa’s Artwork Featured at 14th Annual Downtown Stuart Craft Festival

The streets of Stuart will be happily packed with art lovers and The Rickie Report hopes you will be among them!   The 14th Annual Downtown Stuart Craft Festival on Oct. 12 and 13 brings familiar artists and new emerging artists together in one great venue with Howard Alan Events. A great way to begin the autumn craft festival season, we are highlighting one of the artists, Lori  Hlavsa, in this article.

The Downtown Stuart Craft Fair, October 12 – 13, 2013, marks the beginning of the Fall Season.  This juried festival features the work of 100 of the finest crafters in the country. An eclectic mix of original affordable crafts including a wide variety of gift items with prices set to suit all budgets and tastes will be on display along Osceola Street in Downtown Stuart. Partial proceeds from this very popular festival benefit the Stuart Main Street Programs.  

 

 

American Craft Endeavors, the producer of this show, and Howard Alan Events bring a number of festivals to historic Downtown Stuart each year. These highly anticipated art events are popular because of the vast array of quality handmade items and art on display as well as the number of leading national artists and crafters showcased at each festival.

Lori Hlavsa  started drawing as a child when she was watching cartoons and reading Sunday comics.  One of her favorites was the {Love is…) comic strip in the late 1960’s.   ART began to be a life long hobby.

She tells The Rickie Report, “Lately, I paint with acrylics and airbrush. I use watery layers with paint brush and airbrush for blending and fading. People say it’s “dream-like”, which is a perfect expression.”

“Some of my paintings have papers as texture. I still like to use handmade papers, since my paper sculptures called “Paperpeple” were the beginning of my art show career with Debbie and Howard Alan, back in the 80’s.
