Trina Slade-Burks Honored as 2013 Woman of Excellence

Trina Slade-Burks is a woman who wears many hats within her local and larger community.   She will be honored by the Delta Heritage Foundation, in partnership with the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority as a 2013 Woman Of Excellence at the Palm Beach County Convention Center. The Rickie Report wants to share in this celebration of  Trina’s ongoing contributions to the arts community and more.  The featured speaker will be  Dr. Bernice A. King, daughter of the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Coretta Scott King.   Congratulations, Trina!

The 2013 Women of Excellence Gala will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the Palm Beach County Convention Center. A special Honoree and Sponsors Reception will take place, with over 600 guests in attendance.  This gala event will help celebrate Trina Slade-Burks’ dedication to serving the community.

The featured speaker will be Dr. Bernice A. King, daughter of the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Coretta Scott King.  Nationally and internationally known as one of the most powerful, motivating and life-changing orators, Dr. King is a committed activist and civic leader. Her commentary on issues such as race, culture, gender, and the political and social impact particularly in the African American community is shaping public opinion in our country and around the world.

 

A short video has been produced by  Greg Dillard of Grapeseeker Video and Graphic Design, so Ms. Slade-Burks can share her story with the audience.   The photo-shoot took place at the Four Art Gardens Society for the Four Arts.
