The Downtown Development Authority, in partnership with WG Compass Realty and McMow Art Glass, will be hosting the first Downtown Summer Gallery Series. This event will be a changing exhibit of works of nationally and locally recognized artists.  The event’s kick-off will be an exhibit of Chisolm’s art work.

While attending the University of Southern Mississippi he participated in a number of art shows and represented the university in many local and regional competitions.  “Man Standing”, a figurative piece, won best in show and earned him a full scholarship to the University for the balance of his education.

After a world-wide successful career in the fashion industry, Chisolm returned to his artist roots.  While living in Washington, DC he participated in many art exhibitions and solo shows.  In September, 2009 he began painting full time.  JF Gallery in W. Palm Beach showcased his work in a solo exhibition in January, 2011.  Chisolm has been chosen as one of the artists of Palm Beach County’s Art in Public Spaces.

Chisolm shares, “My true mission is to show movement, passion and energy in each of my art pieces.  I work with the movement of my body and describe it as my ‘handwriting’.  The emotion I feel each time I take brush to hand is what my work is all about.  It is bold, filled with energy and power, and is often layered with contrast”.
Chisolm is currently showing at Studio 1608 in West Palm Beach and Philip Morton Gallery in Rehoboth Beach, DE.

“Chisolm’s artwork shows true energy and movement.  My favorite Chisolm signature pieces are what he refers to as the Plastics; they  are so vibrant and colorful.” said Julie Seaver, Compass’ Director of Development.
