She tells us, “I studied with Sidney Escowitz and took classes at McMow Art Glass Center and at Art Glass Environments. I now have my own studio and my hobby has become my passion. Working with glass has allowed me to express my creativity and love for color, shape and form. I get lost in my work and experience a thrill every time I open the kiln.”

Her fused art glass pieces are full of color with lots of dichroic glass mixed with beautiful bright backgrounds. Some are sculptural and some functional objects for the home including large and small bowls, dishes, platters, salt and pepper shakers, olive oil bottles, sushi dishes and serving utensils.

Helen Kagan

Helen Kagan, PhD, a refugee from Russia, is a healer and an artist.  Her “Healing Arts” blends her own life experience into a visual form emphasizing the healing power of art.  Helen grew up in what was then the USSR, a communist State where oppression and control were a daily reality. In 1991 a quest for free-dom led her to the US where she brought a Jewish heritage, a PhD in Science, Master’s in Psychology, and an unending thirst to explore life’s meaning.  Living in VT, WI, MN, NJ, NY and now in FL, she’s spent much of her life in the USA as a holistic therapist and a social worker. Following her quest Helen studied many healing modalities, and equipped with another Master’s in Clinical Social Work she’s been ‘walking the walk’ integrating a mind-body-spirit philosophy into her personal and professional life (see www.NYhealing.com)

Helen believes in the mind-body-spirit connection. These beliefs encompass her dream of developing a Healing Arts Center to reach people from different cultures, races and ethnic backgrounds.  A dream that she’s following all these years  by providing therapeutic healing services and bringing her Healing Arts to those in need.  Helen continues to follow her heart’s dream by sharing her art and personal Journey of hope through her collection of “Healing Arts”.
