John McCoy taught ceramics at Florida Atlantic University and during his 36 year tenure as a professor there, he served as an inspiration to many.  The Rickie Report sees the names of potters who have gone on to National Acclaim, including many who are now sharing those seeds of motivation with their students here in Palm Beach County. Local clay artists John McCoy, Justin Lambert, Nena Escobar, Courtney Paige and Brian Kovachik will exhibit their most recent work which includes functional stoneware, porcelain, and wood fired pottery.

While John McCoy taught ceramics at FAU for 36 years, he also served the arts community as a guest lecturer, workshop instructor and juror of art festivals.  He tells us, “ I hope this show becomes a yearly event where local artists get a chance to meet their neighbors and share their work with our community.”

Recently retired, Mr. McCoy built a studio in the Acreage where he is producing beautiful functional pottery and enjoying nature.
