Retired FAU Professor Reunites With Students/Colleagues For Pottery Show

John McCoy taught ceramics at Florida Atlantic University and during his 36 year tenure as a professor there, he served as an inspiration to many.  The Rickie Report sees the names of potters who have gone on to National Acclaim, including many who are now sharing those seeds of motivation with their students here in Palm Beach County. Stop by the Second Annual Pottery Show and Sale at John McCoy Pottery December 15-16th.

While John McCoy taught ceramics at FAU for 36 years, he also served the arts community as a guest lecturer, workshop instructor and juror of art festivals.  He tells us, “ I hope this show becomes a yearly event where local artists get a chance to meet their neighbors and share their work with our community.”

Recently retired, Mr. McCoy built a studio in the Acreage where he is producing beautiful functional pottery and enjoying nature.

McCoy’s students are now teachers (Lighthouse ArtCenter, Palm Beach Atlantic University) and business owners who bring their creativity to others.  The Rickie Report urges you to attend this event not only to see and purchase these hand made items, but to feel the camaraderie and respect of students and a teacher who have become colleagues.
