Art Synergy is a 501 (c) 3, not for profit arts organization founded in 2013. The fruit of the labors of Rolando Chang Barrero, Craig McInnis and Freddy Hennevelt grew out of the original Think Tank,. It has flourished through grassroots efforts beginning with a partnership with Art Palm Beach.  Currently, Rolando Chang Barrero, President and Ilene Gruber Adams, Vice President are managing the organization along with the support of many artists and art lovers in the community. Volunteers and board members are always welcome.

By March 2017, Art Synergy will have organized 6 juried exhibition that have provided Florida based artists to have their work seen, and collected by national and international collectors and art patrons. Also, Art Synergy assists nine Florida art districts organize, promote and market over 65 exhibitions in each year throughout the Palm Beach and Martin County durning Art Palm Beach week which was initiated January 2014.

The nine art districts are: Antique Row Art District,Boynton Beach Art District,Delray Art Art District,Lake ParkArt District,North Palm Beach Art District,Lake Worth Art District,Northwood Village Art District,West Palm Beach Art District,Palm Beach Art District.

In 2016 Art Synergy was classified as a 501 (c) 3 not for profit arts organization which will allow for contributions and donations to a fund currently being created to allow needy families join experiential cultural experiences. This was possible because of the generosity of David and Lee Ann Lester of Next Level Fairs who donate exhibition spaces (Booths) at 2 of the Next Level Fairs: Art Palm Beach and Art Boca Raton.

ART SYNERGY is a countywide movement to unify and promote the diverse culture of our vibrant arts community. ART SYNERGY’s future goals include events that will happen periodically throughout the year, the addition of more participating art districts, and initiatives that help unify the many diverse art entities, and talented artists that Palm Beach County has to offer. With the help of local CRAs, Public Arts Departments, the DDA in WPB and the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County (to name a few), ART SYNERGY has only one place to go… onward and upward.

There are many other little galleries located in the nooks and crannies of the town. Take a day to explore and delight in the art that fills this town. Don’t miss the gallery inside the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County (601 Lake Avenue) and see two SOLO exhibitions, Ray P. Neubert and Leora Klaymer Stewart (look at previous Rickie Reports for more details).  Then walk across the street and visit Artisans on the Ave. (630 Lake Avenue).

Fine Art and fine craftsmanship are found in many shops throughout the town. At Lake Worth Jewelers, 615 Lake Avenue, master designer and jeweler, Richard Fahnoe, is creating one of a kind jewelry with gold and diamonds. After one piece is cast, the mold is destroyed. Lake Worth Jewelers has been in downtown Lake Worth for thirty-two years. Their hours are 9-5, Monday-Saturday.

Brogue’s Down Under, 621 Lake Avenue, has learned the formula for packing in crowds for dinner and a show.  With their elegant and newly windowed back restaurant, diners can come in for a fine meal and to enjoy their Thursday evening (5-8PM) Rod Stewart Tribute Band.  Watch for additional evenings with addition tribute groups to spring up on a regular basis.

These artists are excited to share many forms of performance arts.  They will mesmerize, captivate, and amaze you. You will laugh and join in the fun.  Come see: Live painting and portraits by Zipporah SkyWalker, Spoken Word/Poetry acapella and musical accompaniment by Casandra Tenenbaum, Brian Ritter, and Emily Andari.  Poi, Staff, and Hula Hoop performances by Patrick Kiebzak, Jeremiah Collins, Blair Welcome, and Cassandra Tenenbaum. Watch as these performers, especially as they use LED and fire props! They inspire community connection through playful interactions and create a showcase spectacle in Downtown Lake Worth that links the community with performers, artists, and merchants.

The Lake Worth Playhouse and the Stonzek Movie Theater are the finest antiques Lake Worth has to offer.  The buildings are architectural gems, well worth the visit.  Sitting inside the theater brings you back 100 years.  Within the beautiful surroundings of this glorious theater, you can experience wonderful and affordable productions.  The Stonzek Movie Theater shows independent and rare films seen nowhere else in the county.

“Dreams, Moons and Mandalas” Featuring Artwork of Olga Lucia Toro

Olga Lucia Toro combines her Columbian heritage with a life long passion of exploring art and symbolism to stimulate others through her artwork.  She creates a physical manifestation using the ancient form of the mandala and opens a gateway for us to be inspired. The Rickie Report is eager to share the details of Olga’s exhibit at Palm Beach State College, where she plays many roles.

Since 2005, Ms. Toro has been affiliated with Palm Beach State College.  She serves as an Adjunct Professor for the Center for Leadership and Professional Studies, as an Inspirational Speaker for the Global Education Center and the “Dream It, Do It” Club.  She also facilitates the Annual Spanish Language Celebration Week among other events.

OlgaSlide7

Along with her academic endeavors, Olga has continued her life long passion to study the connections between art, symbolism, Eastern philosophies  and mythology as gateways to our innermost human essence.

OlgaSlide8

Olga’s work is inspired by Carl Gustav Jung and his theories on the power of symbols.  She lives in Palm Beach County and dedicates her time to inspire others through her artwork, life coach sessions and inspirational speeches.

OlgaSlide12

Since 2010, painting mandalas became a practice by which Ms. Toro creates a visual manifestation of her expertise in spirituality, symbolism and psychology.  Most of her paintings follow the pattern of a circle as a way to tap into the qualities of the mandala.  According to Jung, a mandala is a symbol of psychic wholeness.
