The Rickie Report is pleased to share notices for two upcoming Guild meetings, one for Polymer and another for Jewelry. Both events give artists working in their own space an opportunity to connect with other like-interested artists. This is a terrific way to share techniques, ideas and build your own artisan network.
South East Florida Polymer Clay Guild
Next general meeting will take place on Monday April 16, 2012 from 6:30 - 9:30 pm. at Beads on the Ave – Downtown 151 NE 2nd Ave Delray Beach 561-278-6977 . The Guild meets on the third Monday of each month. This month’s meeting will focus on pricing your polymer creations to sell. The next meeting, Monday May 21st will demonstrate Makume Gane led by Pamela Carman; June 18th Bill Wallace will demonstrate creating faux gems and surfaces using polymer clay.
Sign-in starts at 6:30 PM. Around 7:00 PM, there is a brief business meeting followed by Show and Tell and then a great polymer clay program/demonstration. Remember to wear a name tag and to bring Hearts for Heroes, Bottles of Hope, Show and Tell crafts, and library items borrowed. Dues are $36/yr or $4/meeting. Guests Free. This month we have Lynn Rowe doing a Lampwork bead demonstration. Come see her make beads with fire and molten glass. This is a really interesting process. If you use lampwork beads in your jewelry pieces come and see how they are actually made.
