Wellington Art Society Welcomes Elayna Toby Singer to Meeting
The Rickie Report hopes you will bring your friends and neighbors to this month’s Wellington Art Society meeting. Elayna Toby Singer will be speaking and showing a presentation about Art in Public Spaces. We have seen her present before and highly recommend you attend. You will gain a better understanding of how art pieces are chosen, why, and how they are paid for. This is government working at its best as a partner with the arts.

Refreshments will be served beginning at 6:30pm and there will a raffle that is open to all attendees.
The general meeting begins at 7:00PM with a presentation at 7:30 by Elayna Toby Singer, of Palm Beach County’s Art in Public Places. She will be speaking about the program and how to apply to Calls to Artists.
The Palm Beach County Art in Public Places program is managed by the Facilities Development and Operations Department of Palm Beach County. The mission of the program is to provide art that compliments public buildings, parks and plazas; creates a sense of place and enhances community identity; improves the design quality of public infrastructure; and contributes to the missions of the county departments where projects are sited.
- Provides administrative and technical support to The Palm Beach County Public Art Committee.
- Manages the installation of all artwork in and on County property.
- Administers the Palm Beach County Artists’ Registry.
- Expands the traditional definitions of art and broadens understanding of public art benefits through community education
This year, WAS will also present ArtFest on the Green, a 2-day event with artist and vendors from around the county. The event will be held January 5 and 6, 2013 at the Wellington Amphitheater. More information and applications are available at wellingtonartsociety.blogspot.com
Founded in 1981, The Wellington Art Society is open to artists of all mediums and patrons of the arts, providing both local and regional artists the platform to share their work, learn more about their craft and serve the community through their art. The Wellington Art Society is open to any resident in Palm Beach County. Membership forms will be available at the Open House if you would like to become a member.
A 501(c)(3) charitable organization, its mission is to educate and encourage originality and productivity among its members and area youth through programs designed to further the advancement of cultural endeavors in the western communities.
