Jane McIntyre likes to explore the figure in a particular space or atmosphere that captures an energy or mood of the sitter. The color and imagery choices are manipulated to support this end by juxtaposing areas of definition against the vague shadows where form and space overlap and interact.

“I utilize the figure to portray the mystery of what the sitter is experiencing and to capture a mood, attitude or their thoughts. I focus on these abstract qualities using the figure, color and elements to expose what lies beneath the surface of the likeness”.

Jane earned her BFA degree from the University of CT and pursued graduate studies at New York University in Art Therapy.  Since 2006, Ms. McIntyre has taught painting and drawing at the Boca Raton Museum Art School, Boca Raton, Florida.

She is a member of  The National Association of Women Artists, Inc. and serves as the FL Chapter’s President. Jane is  Program Coordinator for WITVA, a Signature Member of the Artist Guild, Boca Raton Museum of Art, a Signature Member of Palm Beach Watercolor Society and an Associate Member of the Florida Watercolor Society.

Ms. McIntyre has receieved awards from: Armory Watch for Excellence, A.W.E., exhibit in 2010 at the Armory Art Museum in West Palm Beach, Florida exhibit of selected emerging artists 2009 -2010. Palm Beach State College, Lake Worth,  National Painting and Drawing Competition: 2011, 2009, 2008, 2007. Von Liebig Museum, Naples Florida, National Encounter:  2010. Boca Museum of Art, Artist Guild Juried Biennial Exhibit: 2012, Second Place; 2010; 2008.

Enamel Pear Pendant By Phyllis Annunziato

Phyllis C. Annunziato has been making jewelry since 1976. In 1984 she began teaching the “art of jewelry” and showing her work in juried exhibits, winning many awards. She has had several solo and shared shows in NY and FL. Her work has been exhibited in several Museums and is in many private collections.

She served as President of WITVA from 2000-2002, as Co-President from 2007-2008, and is president for her third term 2010-2012. WITVA is a South Florida organization dedicated to promoting the Visual Arts for artists and the community. Phyllis is also an active member of the Florida Society of Goldsmiths (FSG).  She is inspired by “found objects” and recycled materials. “It is interesting to see how many wonderful ideas come from looking “out of the box”. Jewelry is small example of the ability to transform things that can become “waste” into artistic and fun art”.

Her studies include the Huntington Art League, Craft Students League, Kulicke & Stark Academy and Workshops in NY.  Locally she studied at the Armory Art Center, Boca Raton Museum of Art, Workshops thru the Florida Society of Goldsmiths and the Atlantic Center for the Arts. She studies fusing, casting and slumping glass at the McMow Glass Art Studio in Lake Worth, Florida, and loves experimenting on her own.

Since 2004 Phyllis has lectured about the “History of Jewelry” on cruise lines and for local organizations, including the Delray Library, She has taught Jewelry workshops for adults and children at many venues including the Armory Art Center, Sugar Sand Park and the WITVA ART CENTER. Her work has been sold in many Galleries both in New york and Florida. She will be exhibiting and selling her work at the FAU Art Festival on November 3 and 4th this year. And her work is sold privately.
