Join us for our first meeting of the new season on Friday, September 21st from Noon until 4:00. WITVA welcomes Elizabeth Reed who will offer a presentation of Drawing. Ms. Reed describes herself as a “visual archeologist”. Her drawings combine unrelated images which explore the relationship between structure and spirit. She creates delicate drawings intertwined with abstract natural shapes.
Elizabeth’s work has been recognized in local, national and international exhibits. Recent exhibits include The 60th Annual All Florida Exhibit at The Boca Raton Museum of Art and The 49th Annual Founders Exhibit at the Von Liebig Art Center in Naples, FL. Elizabeth has been featured numerous times in Florida International Magazine’s, “Artist Showcase” and Gold Coast Magazine’s February 2010 issue. She teaches drawing, life drawing and painting at The Boca Raton Museum Art School.
The meeting takes place at Sugar Sand Park Recreation Center located at 300 South Military Trail, Boca Raton, FL. 33431. For more information: WITVA2000@aol.com
In addition, WITVA offers many cultural contacts within the local communities. This month we highlight WITVA Vice President Bobbie Galex. She is the person who was inspired to start our HOSPITALART PROGRAM in 1999 and has been the Director since that time.
Her committee works at the WITVA ART CENTER every Tuesday, from 10AM – 3PM. They are a very dedicated group. No artists name is on any of the paintings. They donate their time and talent.
The photos of the paintings are just a few samples of the wonderful works that have been donated tonot-for-profit hospitals, nursing homes, hospices, soup kitchens, and homes forabused, abandoned, and neglected children and women in Palm Beach County,Broward, and Miami-Dade County in South Florida. You are welcome to visit the WITVA ART CENTER to view these artists at work. For an appointment please call Bobbie at: 561 483 – 7977.
