Appreciate the Secrets of Everyday Shells on Your Beach
Everyone enjoys the beach and looking for shells – but do we understand what they are, really? THis is your opportunity to find out! The Gem and Mineral Society of the Palm Beaches will host their next meeting on May 17th.
Club Purpose: To associate persons of the Palm Beach area of Florida who are interested
in earth sciences, to work together as an organization in the gathering, cutting,displaying, and studying of rocks, shells, artifacts, and any kind of scientific objects of interest to the individual and the organization to promote community interest in these objects. The society is a member of the Eastern Federation of Southeast Federation of Mineralogical Societies, Inc., affiliated with the American Federation of Mineralogical Societies. Our members are able to participate in activities sponsored by these organizations.
Visitors are always welcome at our meetings! Bring a friend, colleague, family member –ANYONE who shares a passion for fossils, gems and minerals!

Our May program will be all about “Shells.”
We will be visited by Richard Sedlak. Richard has the honor of having the Cyphoma Sedlaki shell named after him. He is an Honorary member of the Broward Shell Club, and a participant in the Conchologists of America, the national Shell Club. You are invited to learn things you probably never knew, or dreamed of, about Sea Shells.
